Folksy Friday

So today is Folksy Friday which is where all the fabulous makers and designers from across the British Isles have the opportunity to celebrate all the beautiful treasures that are being made here.

We all know the importance of buying handmade…don’t we??  It’s about people.  It’s about the magic of an individual’s imagination. It’s about heart and soul.  It’s unique.  Today is all about sharing the handmade love, and here are just some of the gorgeous items I found today on Folksy

First up is this wonderful mixed media Autumn Flowers painting by Teodora Paintings which was inspired by the ‘spectacular autumn colours’.  I love all of Teodora’s artwork (and she also has a studio to die for!)

My next find is this beautiful Cow Parsley Seedhead Linocut Print by littleRamstudio which has been hand cut and printed on a hand press.  Stunning!

And here’s something from me…an Autumn Meadow Pendant.  I used to make these little treasures as beads, but the jewellery version has been on my to do list for about two years now!  Completely unique and exclusive to Folksy, this is truly one of a kind.  I do plan to make some more of these pendants in different colours, hopefully that won’t take me another two years!

Next up are these gorgeous Copper Swirl Stud Earrings by Midnight Star Designs.  Colleen makes some very beautiful jewellery, and her metal work is incredible.

Now there’s nothing better than sitting with a cup of tea whilst browsing through Folksy, and what better way to keep your pot warm than with this hand knitted One Cup Autumn Tea Cosy by Hook and Loop?  Love this!

Next I found this wonderful Autumn Fields print by Janice MacDougall Art.  Printed from an original watercolour and signed, this high quality print comes ready to mount and frame.  I adore those colours!

Being a lover of pretty adornments, when I stumbled upon these gorgeous Autumn Berry Dangle Earrings by Caroline Frodsham Jewellery I simply had to include them.  They’re made from cut and domed pieces of copper which have then undergone a patination process.  Beautiful!

Next is this lovely Hand-Embroidered Linen Shoulder Bag by Skipper.  Made from medium weight linen and embroidered with pink flowers and button embellishments, this is gorgeous!

And finally, another of my pieces…my Hedgerow Bracelet which is inspired by all things Autumn!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what treasures I found as much as I enjoyed finding them!
